Retreats in Tigmi Basma

In the mountains by the sea. That's where you will find us.

Mohamed was born here in these mountains, they are all very authentic Amazigh villages (Moroccan Berber), with a slow, peaceful pace of life. There is a healing energy about these mountains. Something magic about watching the sun setting into the sea.

I (Amy) have lived here since 2021. We have made our own little life up here, with our beautiful daughter Basma. We love being surrounded by all of Mohamed's family in the village. Basma especially loves to see the goats and donkeys hanging around.

Why Tigmi Basma? As you may know, we have our beautiful daughter Basma, a Moroccan name meaning 'smiley girl' which she definitely lives up to. Mohamed and his family are Amazigh and they speak the Tachlihit language. Tigmi means 'home' in Tachlihit, and that's really the feeling that we want to give with our retreats. We want you to feel comfortable, looked after and almost like part of the family. If you've been on our retreats before, you'll know that nothing is too much, if we can do it we will.

Tigmi Basma is built with love. We have 5 bedrooms, 4 with en suite, 1 with a private bathroom. Four of our bedrooms have their own little balcony. The views from the rooftop are incredible. We have a garden overlooking the mountains, plus a cosy little front garden, which gets lots of sun!

As has always been my dream, we have a cosy inside reading nook. For the days when the weather won't allow us to sit outside, we have an inside Moroccan salon. Oh, did I mention the kitchen also, where you can help yourself to tea, coffee and snacks.

Our prices fror these retreats start at £600.

Food  with Mohamed

Mohamed was born in a little village called Ait Bouaoud. His family are a very traditional Amazigh (Berber) family. He grew up surrounded by nature, cooking and family. He loves to cook for people and can’t wait to teach you more about his culture through food. He will be cooking you wonderful meals each day, all fresh and locally sourced.

Amy is a very warm-hearted and caring person. Her daily online lessons bring a wonderful structure into my life during these strange times. I like her soft and perceptive voice and appreciate her relaxed and clear way of explaining all the different poses and their effects on the body and mind. I learn so much from her and I’m excited and looking forward to her lessons every single day.
Amy, you make this crazy lock down situation a lot easier for me. I can't really imagine to do a yoga class in German ever again... Thank you so much! Namaste

Just spent the most wonderful 5 days with Amy, Mohamed and Basma, as Amy says, in the mountains by the sea. The location was breathtaking, with stunning scenery in all directions. Firstly the yoga, Amy has a lovely calm approach giving lots of variations and adaptations to suit everyone. The food was amazing thanks to Mohamed. We were looked after, from the moment you land, until you are taken back to the airport. I came home feeling energised and inspired. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely love going on the Yoga, Moroccan food and culture retreats with Amy and Mohamed. They're amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble and every need is catered for. If you are looking for an easy going, home from home retreat with an amazing variety of Moroccan food then this is the one, I would highly recommend.

It's unfair to describe the whole experience of yoga with Amy in a few words. It has almost been two years now and I can see how much better I feel in my body.

What I love about Amy is that she tries to make everyone comfortable during the class. She is absolutely someone that listens to everyone's needs, beginners, people with injuries and pregnant woman.

Very professional, punctual, so patient and knowledgeable, just born to be a yoga teacher.

Amy's yoga reterat is always a highlight of my year - this year will be my third! It's a perfect balance of organised activities and downtime, and always flexible and relaxing. The food is incredible and the setting in the mountains is the most serence and peaceful place to relax and reflect. Other attendees are always lovely and up for a laugh. It's like Amy possesses a special magic to bring lovely people together. Even though it's a few days I always leave feeling like a completely different person physically and mentally - recharged, nourished and blissful.
